
Senior PDMS Cats and Specs Engineer
AMEC are looking for a PDMS Cats and Specs Engineer to assist the Engineering Systems Manager in the delivery, maintaining and the administration of the project PDMS Cats and Specs database.
PROJECT:
AMEC was recently awarded by Operator GDF Suez E&P UK Ltd a contract for the provision of engineering, design and procurement services for the Cygnus field development project. Various options exist in this contract for the provision of other services throughout the project lifecycle.
The engineering and procurement programme spans over a 20 month period starting on the 1st August 2012 to Q1 2013. Construction and installation spans from Q1 2012 through to Q3 2015.
Cygnus is the largest undeveloped gas and condensate field located in theSouth North Seaapproximately 150km North East of Easington. The field development plan requires two well head platforms, one processing and utilities platform and a quarter's utility platform.
The initial FEED phase shall be over an 8 month period and the detail design shall run for a further 14 months.
KEY AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
· Generate piping specifications to meet project requirements.
· Provide project PDMS Cats and Specs to suit requirements of the piping specifications.
· Liaise with the piping material discipline for piping specials.
PURPOSE/ROLE:
· Execute Engineering Systems discipline engineering in design under the guidance of a Lead Engineer.
· Responsible for the administration of PDMS databases and provision of support to end users across all engineering disciplines.
· Responsible for the generation of piping specifications using AVEVA VPRM
· Responsible for maintaining project PDMS Cats and Specs database
PRIME RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
· Administer and implement Company, and where applicable, Client/Project policies and procedures.
· Supervision of discipline personnel and allocation of work
· Remain abreast of legislative requirements
Qualifications:
UK Bachelors Degree or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject preferred. HNC / HND will be considered.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Sound knowledge of AVEVA PDMS Cats and Specs.
· Sound knowledge of AVEVA VPRM Spec module.
· An engineer with sound technical background and expertise
· Knowledge in the use of appropriate codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation
· Knowledge in the use of design and assessment methods used within discipline
· Competent in design safety / environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both self and subordinates
· Experienced engineer respected for past achievements
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The PDMS Cats and Specs Engineer is responsible to the Engineering Systems Manager on a Corporate Functional Basis and the Project Manager/Leader on a project basis.

Minimum Qualification/s: HNC/BSc
Hourly Rate: £57/ph - £62/ph Ltd / £57/ph - £62/ph PAYE (inclusive of salary, holiday pay + benefits)
Bonus: 10% completion payment based on total hours worked on the project
Start Date: Immediate but will consider up to 3 weeks notice
Max Notice Period: 3 weeks
Duration: 12 months

Core Hours: 40 per week
Overtime: No overtime
Grade: ST3
Notice period: 2 weeks
Additional Info: Ltd contractors receive 1 day off per month
