Onshore Pipeline Engineer (Oil & Gas)

This leading US-headquartered engineering organisation has been based in the UAE for more than 12 years and has a diverse workforce numbering over 2,000 in the region. Their projects include large subsea and onshore pipelien projects as well as structural work and fabrication. As well as a large design team, the company has installation and construction capabilities.

Onshore Pipeline Engineer

As part of a growing portfolio of onshore projects, the team is now looking for an experienced onshore pipeline engineer. The position will be part of a larger engineering team, mainly based in the main office, but with occasional travel to site. Detailed duties include:

• Site visit / Survey and Data Collection
• Pipeline route reconnaissance
• Pipeline Mechanical Design Calculations (e.g. Wall Thickness, Crossing Design etc).
• Preparation of Materials Specifications and Data Sheets
• Provide necessary inputs to Designers for preparation of various layouts, detail drawing, MTOs
• Ability to undertake Stress / Flexibility Analysis.
• Knowledge of selection of materials.
• Review of other discipline deliverables for interface checking, inter discipline co-ordination activities etc.
• Technical assistance to designers
• Preparation of Material Requisitions (MRs) also called as RFQs (Requisition of Quotation)
• Evaluation of Technical Quotations / Offers submitted by the Vendors
• Raise Technical Queries (TQs) if any, to the respective vendor for clarifications.
• Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE) table & TBE report.
• Prepare Purchase Requisition / Order
• Review of Vendor Data / Drawings and approval of the same.
• Experience of having lead a couple of large sized projects (above 5000 man-hours for Pipeline).
• Participation in Value Engineering Workshops, Preparation of CTRs (Cost, Time and Resource requirement estimates on assigned projects, manage design change within Project budget and schedule frame work, Manager project discipline resource requirement, effective interaction with client engg team, Ensure compliance with the work scope etc.
• Excellent communication, Leadership & Supervision skills.
• Quality Assurance - Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system
• Safety - Responsible for personal safety safe working practices.

Requirements

To apply for this posiiton you should have the following

• systems expeirence of STAAD-PRO
• knowledge of AUTOCAD
• A degree (B.Eng/B.Sc) or B-Tech
• 7 years expeirence minimum
• Experience of ONSHORE pipeline engineering
• Experience in the Oil & Gas industry
